Resurrection Sunday! 2010
Posted on Monday, April 5th, 2010
It was great to see folks come out from all walks of life on Sunday April 4, 2010. We had a great time celebrating the resurrection of our Savior and Lord! Over 134 in attendance was a bench mark for Tha MYX on any given Sunday. We are excited to see God moving in a mighty way within His church. 10, Salvation’s, Several re-dedications, and many were prayed for including Yasmin who is struggling with alcohol addiction. Yasmin and her husband have been attending Tha MYX for close to 9 months and face day to day struggles as they are homeless and live under the bridge on 6th avenue and Federal Blvd in Denver. Yasmin said, “I don’t know what it is about this place, Nathan and I woke up and had enough money to go and buy a bottle, but we said NO, let’s go to church today.” Praise God they did. Yasmin and Nathan are just two of many who attend Tha MYX with different degrees of a hard knock life. We are glad that so many come to see the power of God move in a mighty way through fellowship, encouragement, and prayer. As I was preaching about the Glorious Jesus on “Star” status in His time, I come to find out several things about Jesus. . Whenever He entered into a place, town, neighborhood, or house, people flocked to Him. Even His enemies or those who doubted were moved by His appearance. Jesus came as a sacrifice and wasn’t moved by any of the distractions that the people laid on Him. They fixed their eyes upon HIm, they were amazed by Him, they were silenced by Him, and the influence that Jesus had was an all time “Star” status. Even this day, He is gaining the attention that He is the Messiah. Something happens when we’re fixed on Jesus. We gain this super natural Unity within each other. When we stare at Him, we gain this Elusive UNITY. Acts 4:32 states, “Now the whole group of those who believed were of one heart and of one soul.” Even a warring pack of dogs banded together when a lion walked into town. And so it was with Jesus. His Holy presence was striking. And as people stared at Him, they grew UNIFIED. The world is to know us by our UNITY. (John 17:21) So it was, when He entered, they worshipped Him, they praised Him, and this was totally Elusive Worship. Imagine, Jesus comes and dies for the world so that through Him they might be reconciled. What an impact He had, WHILE ON THE EARTH, AND WHILE SEATED AT THE RIGHT HAND OF HIS FATHER AND YOURS, WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE!!!!
